If you hear sirens going off Wednesday, don't fret. It's only a test. The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Community Siren Test will take place from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow, according to officials.
Long, steady sirens will be activated several times for about three minutes each time.
Sirens will be heard in Dana Point, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, state parks, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and throughout unincorporated areas of Orange County within 10 miles of the plant.
Federal regulations require the test be conducted each year.
