Pine Beetles are killing our beautiful trees
And dead trees are a fire hazard!
Drought has weakened our beautiful pines and the beetles have moved in. Some neighbors have spent thousands of dollars trying to spray, water and save their trees. No such luck! Waiting for winter rains won't help. The only way to get rid of them is to cut down the trees, rapidly remove the infected wood and branches and take them to the dump. If you stack the wood and use it for firewood, the beetles will keep finding another live home.
If you are not sure, have a certified arborist come and look at your trees.
Here are some helpful flyers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture:
Let's work together to save as many trees as we can!
