Grazing Horses in Wilderness Areas
We have received an e-mail from a representative of the Cleveland National Forest regarding grazing of horses in wilderness areas around Rancho Carrillo.
"HI - I work for the Cleveland National Forest. We are having problems with horses being allowed to graze on Forest Service land in the Wilderness from homes in Rancho Carrillo. I am wondering what the best way is to get a message to homeowners about this situation. Is there a newsletter? Or is posting something on this website the best approach? To clarify for now, horses are, of course, allowed in the wilderness with riders but allowing horses to graze freely is not allowed. There has been resource damage in some areas from this use.
